The Smart Pineapple :
Hi everybody, time for another question of arts. I was just wondering how you can paint Van Gogh style in a way. It seems really hard to accomplish one painting with the Van Gogh style because I realized that when Van Gogh painted “Starry Night”, “Sunflowers”, and “Red Vineyard, there were many lines on his painting, how does he does it and please don’t say anything like a fairy painted for him or he was a magical wizard. Please and thanks a million for the people that answered properly.

Well first off you probably already know this bit he used alot of paint!
Oil paint!
You have to make big brush strokes with a base color for one area that you are going to do like the wind then
You have to make small brush strokes over the large ones and let the paint mix together for an example like the swirls of wind in the start night that’s what he did
He was a magical wizard, at least that is what many artists and people would say about his techniques. When you look at his paintings you will see that the oil paint is applied very thickly and with confidence. I had a chance to see Starry Night in person, the paint is almost 3/4 inch thick, I wonder if it is still wet after 100 years. He was applying the paint straight from the tube and using the hair of a brush and the wooden part of the brush too. It takes some practice and observation to paint like he did. He used some of the methods of the impressionist like putting the complementary colors next to each other to make the colors more vibrant. Also putting swirls and abstract shapes in the painting. What I will recommend to you is to study his paintings and try to copy them and that will give you an idea and practice how to do it.
